Colgajo pediculado al hemiabdomen superior para salvar un pulgar lesionado / Pedicle Flap to the Upper Abdomen to Save an Injured Thumb

Se presentó un paciente blanco, de 35 años de edad, que sufrió accidente de trabajo en una impresora que le provocó lesión del pulgar, fue atendido en el Cuerpo de Guardia del Hospital Universitario Docente Vladimir Ilich Lenin de Holguín y se le realizó un colgajo pediculado al hemiabdomen superior permaneciendo por cuatro semanas y al liberarlo logró buena revascularización y función. El paciente se incorporó a sus labores normalmente tres meses después del accidente. El paciente realiza la pinza digital y escribe con su mano diestra lesionada.

A white patient of 35 years old, who suffered an accident at work on a printer that caused injury to the thumb, was presented. Presentación de una paciente con liposarcoma gigante de muslo / Presentation of a Patient with Thigh Giant Liposarcoma

Se presentó una paciente de 68 años de edad con antecedentes de tumoración no dolorosa en parte posterior del muslo derecho desde hacía unos 12 años con crecimiento enorme en los últimos meses. El examen histopatológico informó un liposarcoma pleomórfico de grado intermedio de malignidad. Se intervino quirúrgicamente en el Hospital Vladimir Ilch Lenin de Holguín y durante nueve meses estuvo asintomática con buena evolución clínica sin necesidad de amputación del miembro afectado.

A 68-year-old female patient with a history of non-painful tumor in the posterior part of the right thigh about 12 years ago with enormous growth in recent months was presented. Histopathological examination reported an intermediate grade pleomorphic liposarcoma of malignancy. She underwent surgery at Lenin Hospital in Holguín and during nine months the patient was asymptomatic with good clinical evolution. The amputation of the affected limb was not necessary to perform.

Presentación de una paciente portadora tres hernias discales lumbares tratadas con ozono / Presentation of a Patient with Three Lumbar Disc Herniation Treated with Ozone Discolysis

Se presentó una paciente blanca de 22 años de edad con tres hernias discales lumbares en L3-L4, L4-L5 y L5-S1, atendida en el Servicio de Ortopedia del Hospital Lenin de Holguín y diagnosticada por resonancia magnética con manifestaciones clínicas y un cuadro florido de síntomas que mejora rápidamente una vez realizada la discólisis con ozono y se siguió por consulta externa hasta el alta. Este informe se realizó como respuesta al interés suscitado recientemente por el tratamiento de la hernia discal con ozonoterapia en ámbitos profesionales.

A female white patient of 22 years old with three lumbar disc herniation at L3-L4, L4-L5 and L5-S1, attended in the Department of Orthopedics of Lenin Hospital in Holguin and diagnosed by magnetic resonance with clinical manifestations was presented. The patient improved quickly once the discolysis with ozone was performed and was followed by outpatient until the discharge. This report is in response to recent results of ozone therapy for disc herniation in professional fields.
